3. COLD LASER TREATMENT is a type of phototherapy that uses different forms of light energy to increase local circulation, accelerate tissue repair, reduce pain, and decrease inflammation. We use a combination of laser and superluminous diodes to treat conditions such as osteoarthritis, muscle spasm, whiplash injuries, shoulder, arm and hand pain, leg and foot pain. We have also been using it to help patients suffering with peripheral neuritis.
4. PHYSICAL THERAPY MODALITIES are used as ancillary treatments to help relax the muscles and ligaments which prepares the patient for the above treatments and allows for increased benefit of them.
In order to properly treat a patient's problem, we must find the actual cause. This involves a good comprehensive consultation and examination and then if additional tests are necessary such as x-rays, we have the equipment to take them at that particular time. If Dr. Schwartz feels that an MRI of CT scan is necessary, we will schedule that test for you at the appropriate radiology lab. If preauthorization is necessary, we will contact your insurance company for you for your convenience.
Sometimes, neurological testing such as electromyography and nerve conduction studies are necessary if nerve damage is suspected. These are tests typically performed by neurologists, however, Dr. Schwartz is one of the few chiropractors in the country who is board certified to provide these tests for your convenience.
Dr. Schwartz considers proper diagnosis so important to correct his patients' problems. All to often patients are given medication or physical therapy without knowing what is causing his or her symptoms. This is similar to randomly replacing the parts of a car when it doesn't start. He does not believe in guesswork; He would rather scientifically determine the cause of the problem.
